About Asako Ueno
Born on the southern island of Kagoshima in Japan. Grew up in a town by the beach called Chigasaki, Kanagawa near Tokyo. She has published some books on American antiques and home decorating. She has worked for New York Takashimaya as a buying consultant in Japan for many years. She also worked as an interior director for a hot spring inn in Yamagata “Yunodo-an” and for other restaurants in Japan. Eventually she moved her base to New York in 2009, and currently resides in Park Slope Brooklyn. She writes columns for Japanese magazines and coordinates some pages featuring New York. She is director of Anzu New York as well.
